Happy Holidays 2010!
Vol. 5 No. 10

Holiday entertaining

Whether the whole neighborhood is coming over for an open house, or its just you and a special someone, preparing delicious foods and beverages doesn't need to occupy more of your time than enjoying the occasion.

A staple of any party is tasty breads. Judy's Breadsticks, aka Lovesticks has it all: loaves of bread, crackers, and "sticks and twigs" that are ideal for dipping. A variety of festive dips can be made using the seasoning mixtures from:

Pollen Ranch
Dill Pollen is wonderful. Also try the spice blends from hot to sweet.
Sauce Goddess
Exotic, such as Moroccan Twist or with a spicy kick, such as Latin Heat.
Susie Q's Artisan Foods
Pinquito beans and Santa Maria Seasoning make Fat-Free Bean Dip

Sierra Madre Grocery Co.
Use their Sierra Seasoning Blend (above) to make Sweet & Spicy Chicken & Bacon Appetizer.

Wild Planet
For a high protein appetizer, use their sardines (above) for Sardine and Bean Bruschetta.

Migliore Gourmet
Migiore Dipping Oils, such as Garlic Parmesan Dipping Sauce, Napa Valley Dipping Oil and Roasted Tomato Dipping Sauce pair well with bread from Semifreddi's, such as one of their baguettes.

Valley Lahvosh
Star shaped crackers, as well as rounds, can be topped with anything you like. Make them special with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and a sprinkling of diced red onion and capers (above).

Lundberg Family Farms
Add beautiful color to your holiday dinner buffet with Christmas Rice. Make according to package directions or use in Christmas Rice Dressing with Butternut Squash & Apples.

B & R Farms
Apricots and pork are a classic combination and make a wonderful filling for Apricot-Stuffed Mushrooms, above.

Taylor Brothers Farms
Dried Plums (aka prunes) make delicious hors d'oeuvres that are nutritious, too! The classic appetizer is to wrap these succulent morsels in bacon and roast until the bacon is crisp.

C. J. Olson Cherries
Use their lovely dried tart cherries (above) for your holiday baking or top salads or desserts with them. For a luscious accompaniment to your holiday meats, try Dried Cherry Relish.

Fizzy festivities

Vignette Wine Country Soda To enjoy the taste of Chardonnay wine grapes without the alcohol, make this pretty Chardonnay Pomegranate Punch (below), using Vignette Wine Country Chardonnay Soda.

Fentimans
No alcohol needed when the sophisticated flavors combine in Fentimans Citrus Christmas Punch, and the spice of ginger is welcome on a cold winter evening.
