Follow the instructions on packaged pizza dough and roll it out.
Heat the grill (gas or charcoal) and prepare it to cook with indirect heat.
Brush one side of the pizza dough with olive oil, and place that side down on the grill. Cook until there are nice grill marks, but don't burn, about 4-5 minutes.
Brush the top of the dough and flip it over.
The browned side is now on the top. Brush it with more olive oil and sprinkle the California Spice on it.
Top with California Barbecue Sauce and cheese. (Earl's favorite is the smoked gouda).
Add cooked meat. (This is a great way to use leftovers). Add sliced cherry tomatoes and fresh basil or other herbs of your choice.
Close the grill lid and cook for about 4-5 minutes. Check midway. The cheese should melt and the top of the pizza be hot, but avoid burning the bottom.
For a vegetarian alternative, add sliced grilled beets, using Earl's Gone Wild's recipe.
