Split Pea Soup

8 cupsWater
1 pound (about 2 ¼ cups)Dried split peas
1 TablespoonFinely minced garlic
2 TablespoonsEarl's Gone Wild California Spice
1 teaspoonSalt
¼ teaspoonGround black pepper


Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.

Cover and reduce the heat to low and simmer until the peas are very soft, about an hour or so.

Remove cover and continue simmering to reduce to desired consistency.

Taste and add additional spice mix, if desire.
