No cooking necessary. A fun recipe that little ones can participate in. May be made ahead and chilled.
|4 small or 2 large||Just ripe bananas, peeled|
|¼ cup||Zena’s Sassy Almond-Sesame Sauce (or Peanut SASS)|
|1 tablespoon||Agave syrup or honey|
|⅛ teaspoon||Ground cinnamon|
|¼ cup||Toasted sliced almonds (or toasted chopped peanuts)|
|2 tablespoons||Dark semi-sweet chocolate, chopped super fine|
|¾ - 1 cup||Heavy whipping cream *|
|¼ teaspoon||Vanilla extract|
In a small bowl, mix the agave or honey with the Zena's SASS. Sprinkle the cinnamon over, and mix well.
Into a medium-size bowl, slice bananas into half-inch rounds.
Drizzle the SASS mixture over the bananas, and with two soft spatulas, gently lift and toss until evenly coated.
Sprinkle the toasted sliced almonds (or toasted chopped peanuts) and most of the chocolate over the bananas, reserving a bit to garnish the whipped cream. Again, gently lift and toss until evenly mixed.
Coax bananas into a serving bowl or individual bowls, and top with softly whipped cream or whipped coconut milk, enhanced with pure vanilla extract.
Sprinkle with reserved chocolate.
Serves 4 to 6.
Full-fat coconut milk can be substituted. It needs to be very, very cold.
