Web site offers (foodie finds)Mercury News, San Jose, California Carolyn Jung March 2, 2005
Sure, we hate to admit how much time we really spend surfing the Net. But here are some foodie finds worth lingering over online.
. . .
Looking for the perfect gourmet food gift that screams California? Go to www.savorcalifornia.com, which showcases some of the state's finest specialty food producers. Search by region (Mendocino County, Santa Cruz County, Santa Barbara area and all parts in-between) or by product (cheese and yogurt, produce, wines, desserts and confections). You'll find links to such purveyors as Shelley's Biscotti of Santa Cruz, Spring Hill Jersey Cheese of Petaluma and Ace Cider of Sebastopol, with descriptions of the producers and information on how to order their products.
The site was founded by Jane St. Claire of Sonoma County, former executive director of Consorzio Cal-Italia, an organization of California wineries that make Italian varietals.
