Gourmet foods and beverages from SavorCalifornia.com star at Slow Food organizations tasting

Healdsburg, CA, March 28, 2004...Gourmet specialty food producers will be the stars of a tasting to be held in the Napa Valley to benefit Slow Food USA. On Sunday, May 15 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm booths offering tastes of a wide variety of foods and wines will be arrayed throughout the Barrel Room of the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone in St. Helena. Both Slow Food members and the general public are invited to attend.

Chris Carpenter, head of the Napa Valley chapter of Slow Food: We appreciate SavorCalifornia.com making it possible for those who attend this event to meet the producers who make gourmet specialty foods and beverages, sample and purchase their products, while theyre enjoying fine wines and ales.

The tasting will offer the opportunity to taste and purchase a variety of products made by some of Californias finest food and beverage purveyors, which are featured on SavorCalifornia.com. Fabrique Dlices Charcuterie, Cheesecake Momma, Henrys Olives, Lost Coast Brewery, Nana Maes organic apple juice, Skipstone Olive Oil, Sonoma Toffee, Porkys Onion Relish, Santa Barbara Pistachios, All Star Gourmet sauces, and Carol Halls Hot Pepper Jelly are only a few examples.

Slow Food is an educational organization dedicated to promoting stewardship of the land and ecologically sound food production; reviving the kitchen and the table as the centers of pleasure, culture and community; and enjoying a slower, more harmonious rhythm of life.

SavorCalifornia.com is the online showcase for gourmet specialty foods and beverages from California whats good, whos making it and where to find it. From its beginning in Sonoma County, the website is continually adding new producers from all over the state.

All the proceeds from this event will support the work of Slow Food USA. For more information about Slow Food, please visit www.slowfoodUSA.org. Tickets are $35 per person and may be purchased online at the Slow Food website or by phone at 877-SLOWFOOD or 718-260-8000.
